Connect to Success II

75 internship students from local & abroad universities celebrate successfully completing Qatar Petrochemical Company’s (QAPCO’s) “Connect to Success” summer camp. The program was initiated in part by QAPCO’s Qatarization strategy and designed by our internal training specialists to give students a great opportunity for personal growth while learning and developing networking. The ultimate goal was to provide students and professionals with a nurturing and stimulating environment while allowing them to discover new interests, develop new talents, and encourage exploration.

CONNECT “Career, Opportunities, Network, Navigate, Explore, Communicate, Training”

The “Connect to Success” participants have successfully completed a specially designed training program that has given them an excellent insight into QAPCO and clearly demonstrated the reality of working in a modern Petrochemical Plant. A special event was held at the company’s new Doha offices to commemorate the end of the program, with all participants receiving a Certificate of Achievement from Dr. Mohammed Al Mulla, Vice Chairman and CEO, as well as an exclusive gift to remember their time in QAPCO.

The VC&CEO stated” it’s great to see the number of interns increasing from year to another as a clear indicator of QAPCO commitment towards education and social responsibility. So many young and talented Qatari’s, local and International students wanting to spend their summer vacation working and training in QAPCO, fulfilling their University requirements. It is an honor for us to be able to show them what makes our company work, what makes us one of the key players and largest Petrochemical producers in the Middle East region. I hope they will return to us soon and become part of our exciting journey. I wish you all success”

The training program focused on the overall operation of QAPCO with an emphasis on Health and Safety along with Environmental awareness. Also, an in-depth look was taken at the production of the high quality Polyethylene and Ethylene products being manufactured by QAPCO. Additional training was provided to the current internship students, expanding their professional development in their respective areas of study.

All of the Participants found this program beneficial by reinforcing the knowledge they learned in college and strengthening those skills that are not yet well-developed.

Sh. Khalifa Ali Al-Thani, Ghanim Al-Mannai, Fatima and Reem the interns who completed their training stated” this is our first time visiting QAPCO and it has been a wonderful experience for us to join QAPCO summer internship program, it will help us build our future career prospects as we have experienced at firsthand what working in a large Petrochemical Plant is really like. We must thank all at QAPCO for helping us to learn so much”

Mr. Rashid Al Sulaiti, Chief Administration Officer, congratulated all the students at the gathering and stated”We are delighted that you have completed your summer Training program. QAPCO Internship program provides structured work experience for students and the chance to witness the practical application of theories studied in the classroom.QAPCO has prepared several publicity brochures and booklets that students can pick up and read in order to develop their future career and learn more about QAPCO benefits, scholarships and summer internship programs.
