QAPCO wins Annual Qatarization Award for fourth year in a row

Doha, Qatar – 3 June 2013: Qatar Petrochemical Company (QAPCO) has been awarded the Annual Qatarization Crystal for Supporting Student Scholarships by H.E. Dr. Mohammed Bin Saleh Al-Sada, Minister of Energy and Industry, and Chairman & Managing Director of Qatar Petroleum, during the Energy and Industry Sector’s 13th Anniversary Annual Qatarization Review, recently held at the St. Regis Hotel, Doha.

Winning another award at this prestigious ceremony is a truly remarkable accomplishment as since 2009 QAPCO have been honored each year and won an Award in four categories winning three Crystals and two certificates.

  • 2009 – Awarded Certificate for Supporting Qatarization
  • 2010 – Awarded Crystal for Supporting & Liaising with the Education Sector plus awarded the Certificate for Supporting Training & Development
  • 2011 – Awarded Crystal for Supporting Qatarization
  • 2012 – Awarded Crystal for Supporting Student Scholarships

Such a high accolade demonstrates that QAPCO adhere to best practice policies and procedures and are fully committed to supporting quality Qatarization within the Energy & Industry Sector. It also illustrates the outstanding progress that the Company has achieved over the past few years with regards to attracting, recruiting, developing and retaining Qatari employees.

Dr. Mohamed Yousef Al Mulla, QAPCO’s Vice Chairman and Chief Executive Officer expressed his delight and stated “Being recognized with an award from the Energy & Industry Sector is one of the highest accolades a company can receive as the competition within the Sector is very strong. Dr Al Mulla added “QAPCO is committed to the Qatarization policy created by the wise vision of H.H. Sheikh Hamad Bin Khalifa Al Thani, The Emir of the State of Qatar, and that QAPCO fully supports the Qatarization Strategy as directed by H.E. Dr. Mohammed Bin Saleh Al-Sada.”
